The FMTA in the course of operations may collect names, addresses, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses of tenants or others in relation to our work. Information emailed to the FMTA is kept for service purposes (in case we need to refer to it again) however no other personal information may be collected or stored. No information may be shared with any other person without the consent of the person. Staff will not give out information relating to the leadership, formal or informal, of any tenant organization to anyone. Staff may relay to such leadership a request from someone to contact them, to seek their consent or allow the leadership to contact the inquirer. For the purpose of this policy and with respect to tenants, information about rent or landlords is not considered personal information.
Any information collected is the property of the FMTA, and may not be used for any other purpose except for that necessary to the work of the FMTA.
Information about staff may be collected and stored in accordance with all relevant labour legislation, privacy laws, human and civil rights codes, and in accordance with any Collective Bargaining Agreement.
