National Housing Day Rally in Toronto on Tuesday, November 22, 2011!

On Tuesday, November 22, 2011 there will be a rally in Toronto for National Housing Day

The rally will take place at St. James Park at the corner of Queen St. East and Jarvis, and will run from 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

The Vote for Housing website www.voteforhousing.ca is now up and running. You can find the four housing fact sheets, September 8 housing debate flyer and Vote for Housing's Statement on Livable and Affordable Housing for candidates and parties on the site.

Keep Toronto a Quality City! Depute at City Committees!

The City of Toronto is currently reviewing consultant reports which they have commissioned to find savings in the Toronto City budget. The City is facing a shortfall between $400-$750 million for next years budget.

Tenants for Social Housing: "City’s Budget Crisis Scapegoats Tenants"

TCHC tenants are concerned about the current state of social housing in Toronto and about what the future holds once a new board is elected. On June 9, the acting TCHC managing director Case Ootes, recommended the sale of 900 TCHC homes, which he proposed would help fund the long overdue and desperately needed capital repairs to TCHC buildings in the city.
